In the mountains of British Columbia, stories circulate about an old stone oven built over a century ago during the construction of the railway. Josh McFaddin and his brothers set out on a rugged hike through rivers and mountain trails to find it — and if they do, there’s only one way to mark the occasion: with a meal.

Set against the oak-lined edge of a Manitoba ranch, Josh joins local archery hunter Chad in pursuit of a spring turkey. What follows is a riverside supper that’s as much about friendship and tradition as it is about the food — bringing wild harvest and fire together under an open sky.
